The challenge

Where we started

Every bike is a one-off, and the business buys stock from cyclists as well as selling to riders. The account we took over had broken tracking, spend going on bikes that had already sold, and a feed that could crash overnight.

What we did
First weeks

Fix

  • Got "sell your bike" leads tracking again after they went missing
  • Added a safety net for feed failures, which has already saved the listings once
  • Cleared out old seasonal ads and wasted brand spend
Months one to three

Rebuild

  • Stopped paying for sold bikes, about 20% of Shopping clicks
  • Shopping built for one-off stock: under 1% to 35% of Google spend
  • Tested 5 messages across 7 videos with Olympic champion Dani Rowe
Ongoing

Scale

  • Moving budget from an over-reliance on Google into Meta, to drive new customer growth
  • Automated alerts when a live product has a feed problem
  • Spend timed to five years of seasonal demand data

Shopify via Triple Whale. Trending Tides took over on 5 May 2026.

A head start: they trialled our recommendations before signing. That April was their best month on record.

Shopify revenue net of refunds via Triple Whale, May to August 2026 vs May to August 2025. Order growth: Jan to Apr 2026 vs 2025 and May to Aug 2026 vs 2025. Best-month ranking covers 80 full months from January 2020. Trending Tides took over on 5 May 2026.

Since Trending Tides took over, we’ve stopped paying for our own brand searches, our marketing efficiency is better, and we’ve got more bikes and better creative working for us. They’ve done a great job of resolving the paid media issues we’d had.
